Occam's Eraser

Copyediting and proofreading for authors of scientific, technical, and non-fiction writing.

About the editor

I got my first degree at Trinity College Dublin, in Ireland, where I studied physics. I had so much fun there that I decided to do it again, and I went to the University of Warwick in the UK to study mathematics. But I’ve always been interested in a much wider range of topics, which might explain why the narrow road of academic specialization didn’t really appeal to me in the end. I’m interested in science (physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, genetics, medicine) as well as humanities (history, literature, poetry, languages, classical music and its development, religions), and also more everyday matters (business, technology, law, politics, cooking, music…). Languages and linguistics are of special interest (besides English, I speak Polish, and I plan to learn many more). I’ve lived in four countries and intend to travel further.

I’ve a quick and analytical mind, and I’ve been immersed in literature of all kinds since my earliest years. I have a natural feeling for the flow of well-written text, as well as an accurate sense of what’s right and wrong in writing, and the skill of quickly adjusting the words on the page to clarify what the author wants to say, with the minimum of wasted words.
